This is what the main house at Majeka House looked like when Jean-Claude Dequeker purchased the property in April 1999.




And it is about to change again as we are renovating our restaurant and adding 2 new Mountain View suites on the first floor of the main house!

We have just heard that Pol Roger will be served at the Royal Wedding!

Makaron restaurant also serves Pol Roger Champagne, so if you feel like following the wedding at our bar whilst sipping the same beverage than the Royal Family, do come through!

For the second year running, a group of Swiss Sprinters ahve come to train in Stellenbosch and stayed with us at Majeka House.
Here is a picture of them... although there were only 4 of them, here is a summary of what they did all day!!!!
We wish them a great season and hope to see them again next year!!

In December we acquired some arches to soften the pathway to our rooms. We immediately planted roses and after a lot of looking after and "juice" from the earth worms, the roses planted on each side have already grown over!

Our wine list is something we take very seriously and nothing goes on it that Lloyd and I have not tasted and approved! Lovely job that!!!
Our house wine is the very classical Dalla Cia wine - www.dallacia.com, which you will find in our minibars and as wine by the glass in our bar.
Here is a picture of their Sauvignon Blanc, a generous and well rounded wine, with a long lingering aftertaste brimming with gooseberry and asparagus flavours.
