Hearty dishes, wholesome in flavours and well presented, service is friendly and laid back.
Dornier Bodega – 021 880 1200
In its bold, wild colours, this old winery building looks something like an adult playroom. The Dornier paterfamilias (recently passed) was a famous European painter, and the artisic signature of the family is very apparent here, and at the winery. At Bodega, the menu says “welcome to the home of farm cuisine” (so now you know where it is) and the menu changes daily to pay homage to season, while certain standards remain, like the “flammekuchen”.

The menu is small; featuring hearty comfort foods using fresh ingredients, free-range where possible. Quality is excellent.
Pane E Vino – 021 883 8312
The menu for the day is on one small balckboard that stays at the deli counter; very traditional Italian dishes, to be ended with house grappa!
Taste – 021 855 3686
Simple clipboard menu with ever changing dishes, expect wondrous flavour combinations. Owners attend to the tables themselves and do a sterling job!

Arata's suchi & tapas bar is in a small corner of Stellenbosch, very unknown yet permanently full of locals. The food is fresh and service is friendly, decor very underated. Booking is essential unless you go very early.

Friendly, well informed staff, the menu is divided into Cape dishes (also samplers for diversity) and chef’s specialities.
Moyo – 021 809 1133
Carnivalesque, exotic, inside-outside, face-painted entertainment. All food is buffet, all manner of meats and seafood, salad and bread – constantly refreshed and decent in quality.

Newly opened in Stellenbosch, renowned French chef and friend Christophe Dehosse has finally opened his long awaited restaurant. Delightefully decorated, flavoursome dishes at an amazing good value for money deal. Rush to book, one of our personal favorite and one of the best kept secret in Stellenbosch at the moment.

Classically-based, the combinations are modern and unusual, innovative, making it a worthwhile food destination. Must book.
Rust en Vrede – 021 881 3881
Custom crockery and fine crystal glasses are the extension of streamlined quality service. Exquisitely created and plated, the food showcases fine ingredients and combinations are often subtle. A truly special occasion in Cape dining. Must book.

Plates are packed with flavours and combinations are solidely based on French classics, but not scared to stray. Must book.
Restaurant at Jordan – 021 881 3612
Newly opened, it is the greatest location for combining a lazy lunch and wine tasting! Chef Jardine has compiles a very small, yet exciting menu and if you order the cheese platter you get to walk with the chef on duty to the cold room! Our personal favorite wine is the Jordan unwooded chardonnay.
